ASUS Announces Plans to Bring Jelly Bean to Transformer Pad Series
by Anand Lal Shimpi on July 20, 2012 11:57 AM ESTASUS just sent us an email stating that the Transformer Pad, Transformer Pad Prime and Transformer Pad Infinity are all scheduled to receive updates to Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) in the "coming months". We don't have any more details at this point. The full message from ASUS is below:
Dear valued ASUS customer,
At ASUS, one of the key commitments we make to our customers is a relentless drive to deliver the best user experience. We constantly strive to achieve this goal through our ‘Design Thinking’ philosophy that includes regular software and firmware updates for our products.
We are pleased to announce that many of our tablet products are scheduled to receive an update to Android 4.1, Jelly Bean. The ASUS Transformer Pad, ASUS Transformer Pad Prime and ASUS Transformer Pad Infinity are all scheduled to receive Android 4.1 updates in the coming months. We will provide further guidance on our expected timeframes for these updates near their release.
We are still investigating Jelly Bean updates for other devices, but we are not in a position to confirm whether any other products will be eligible for an update at the moment.

Too many websites then that need to move with the times and start rolling out HTML5 instead.Seriously, Flash was never a great fit for mobile devices, and if Adobe don't even want to support it on Android any more, then so be it. Let it die a Norse death, set it on fire and let it sail away into the distance.

So far flash works for me on mobile. I have no problems.Ok, I agree websites need to switch to HTML5, but they haven't.
Thats why I said maybe in 2 years all major sites have dropped Flash but I am talking about NOW and there is just too much Flash still out there.
I have not seen smooth HD fullscreen 1080p HTML5 video. Please give me a link!

Remember Stage6? It had 1080p before YouTube even considered it... nothing to do with HTML5 though..Ahh, Stage6.. a shame it was insanely unsustainable..

Many Jelly Bean users reported you are able to get flash install and work.Besides Project Butter, there's the Google Now, I'm very interest in it too, although it can be somewhat "creepy".

You can always side load it, Also flash update/ support officially has been stopped. But that doesn't mean the 11.x flash wont run.And yes i agree, That we are not ready for "without" flash web. But someone has to take the pain of this transition. And in this case, We are that generation who will take this pain of half baked html websites or broken flash plugins.

I am amazed by Asus' support to my Asus Transformer Pad! It more than a year old and it rocks! Thanks to the super fast ICS upgrade! To be frank I never JB to make it to my Transformer pad! Now suddenly I want to an android phone from Asus as well :DAsus is great :D They will be even faster with JB since Nexus 7 is made by Asus themselves :D
