More clock speed, more definition and LTE. This is clearly a leap forward. Screens were getting to big for WVGA, a resolution that's been used for about 3 years, from 3.5" to 4.3". And I think it packs a bigger battery. Win-win.
Nice to finally see a modern resolution on that enormous display, but they had to go back to pentile. I guess we'll have to wait for the Samsung Galaxy S II HD LTE Plus Ultra Turbo GT Special Edition.
It's interesting that they would announce the SGS2HDLTE with these specifications, since they are very similar to the speculated and rumored parts for the mythical Nexus Prime. Way back when I first heard about it, the Prime was leaps and bounds ahead of anything else, but it will be just another in the pack if it's not released soon. Even Samsung, the manufacturer, looks to be competing with it.
the two phones are clearly not in scale. There is almost a full inch difference in screen real estate. BTW I like the Mango phone more than the SGSII. WP7 is zippy even with a single core, while helping battery life, and now that they added some missing things like video calling and the entering of WP7 Nokia phones it will look interesting. I'm saying this as I had the chance to use extensively a LG Optimus 7 and the European SGS II. The latter has a gorgeous screen, fantastic camera, incredible 1080p videos, really powerful LED flash which is useful as a torch, but it has REALLY POOR battery life, I mean it can barely last 10-12 hours with just a couple of calls, wi-fi turned off, notifications off, mininum brightness and still background. No wonder Samsung started offering an original 2000mAh battery with a slightly thicker cover, which is flush with the thicker bottom part. How can you have good battery life when you have a faster dual core SoC than the iPad 2 while having 1/5 of the battery capacity?

The question is: "Is it PenTile?" Note, the missing plus.tom1l21 - Monday, September 26, 2011 - link
I'm more curious to see how PenTile looks at that resolution... that is sort of a faux 316 ppi.steven75 - Monday, September 26, 2011 - link
